Sydney Water''s SewerFix, is a program of works that aims to protect public health and the environment by significantly reducing overflows and leaks from the sewerage system by 2012.

Summary

MMA Civil Contractors have delivered multiple parts of Sydney Water''s SewerFix program while working for SewerFix Wet Weather Alliance. MMA Civil Contractors involvement has been in the replacement and renewal of sewerage mains at various locations within Sydney Water''s catchment area. Some of the projects MMA Civil Contractors were involved in are listed below. Blackwattle Bay, Wattle St-Oviform Separation; This project involved the separation of 500m of combined sewer/stormwater under Wattle St. including, laying & concrete encasing a DN300 sewer pipe inside the oviform and connecting the new sewer pipe to the existing sewer lines entering the oviform. These works were constructed in a live sewer/stormwater environment under confined space conditions during night shift works. Blackwattle Bay, Abercrombie St. Separation; The scope of works executed under this contract included all works necessary for the excavation, installation, restoration and testing of concrete sewer pipes up to DN 750mm within Oviform as per the Abercrombie St. Separation contract. North Richmond STP; MMA Civil Contractors were contracted to carry out upgrade works within the North Richmond STP comprising of a rising main bypass, valve chamber, mechanical works, conduits and pipework including all associated works. Eaton St, North Sydney; The scope of the works carried out by MMA Civil Contractors at Eaton St. were as follows; Installation of an interception chamber & DN600mm connecting pipework to the pump station, an overflow chamber & DN750mm connecting pipework to the stormwater system, a sump pump drainage manhole & DN90mm connecting pipework to pump station and associated site drainage and pipework.
