The expansion provided significant additional container capacity at the port to meet projected long-term trade growth while keeping the port operational during construction.


MMA Civil Contractors alongside Mainland Civil delivered major electrical, water, sewer, and stormwater works for the Port Botany Container Terminal Upgrade Project. This project was undertaken while keeping the port operational at all times. MMA Civil Contractors were involved in a total of 9 stages of this project covering an approximate area of 120,000m2. The scope of electrical works in accordance with Energy Australia Standards & Codes of Practice provided by MMA Civil Contractors were as follows:

  • Laying of new HV, LV, and data ducting
  • Construction of associated draw pits
  • Construction of HV pit over energised 11 KVa cable
  • Raising of existing HV and LV Pits
  • Disconnection of LV supply to several LV installations under demolition
